Venerable Thanissaro Bhikkhu (Geoffrey DeGraff) has been a Theravada monk since 1976. After studying in Thailand with Ajahn Fuang Jotiko for ten years, he returned to the U.S. in 1991 to help found Metta Forest Monastery in the mountains north of San Diego where he is currently the abbot. Venerable Thanissaro Bhikkhu’s writing includes Noble Strategy (1999), The Mind Like Fire Unbound (1993), and The Wings to Awakening (1996). He is an avid translator, rendering the meditation guides by masters of the Thai Forest tradition and scriptures from the Pali Canon. Many of his translations can be read online at the Access to Insight website.
