Lecture: Jing Yin on the Nature, Power, and Effect of Mind

“Is Mind a Reality?”

Presented by Dr. Jing Yin, Director, Centre of Buddhist Studies, The University of Hong Kong.

The Buddha’s teachings reveal the root causes of human suffering and unhappiness, and challenge us to transform our minds. Dr. Jing Yin offers his insights on the power of the mind and how to turn negative thoughts into positive ones. He will answer questions following his presentation.

Dr. Jing Yin is a Buddhist monk and scholar. He has a PhD in Buddhist Studies (SOAS, London), MA in Buddhist Studies and MPhil in Chinese Buddhist Studies (Kelaniya). He is the Deputy Director of the Jiazhuang Buddhist Research Institute, the Vice President of the Sangha Institute of Hong Kong; and a member of the standing committee of the Buddhist Association of China, Beijing. Dr. Jing Yin is the author of several books including Buddhism for Key Stage 1, Buddhism for Key Stage 2 and The Social Significance of Five Precepts in Modern Times (Vols. 1-3). His areas of interest are in Vinaya, Theravada, and Humanistic Buddhism.
